STATEMENT BY MEMBERS OF THE ARMENIAN INTERNET COMMUNITY
For nearly 100 years, several generations of sons and daughters of the Armenian people in various regions around the world are making great efforts to ensure the condemnation of the heinous crimes against our people created by the Turkish state and the restoration of justice – the international recognition of the Genocide with its consequences, as well as denunciation of the Treaty of Kars and the return Armenian people illegally annexed territories. This long-term struggle is massive and has written many pages of heroic feats of the offerings of different Armenian patriots in various forms in different time and in different places. Examples of this great multitude, but give only two of them illustrate the above: it is action at the dawn of the last century Soghomon Teyleryana led in Berlin in response to a judicial sentence against the executioner Talaat Pasha and the action of the Soviet colonel Surveyor Gurgen Nalbandian, who in 1973 Ankara in protest defiantly left the courtroom refusing to sign on behalf of the Armenian SSR to an agreement on the immutability of the Soviet-Turkish border, a statement that is not authorized on behalf of the entire nation to sign such a document, and that none of Armenians in the world does not recognize the inviolability of borders. (Note: the authority of the Armenian SSR had been. But in spite of his enormous pressure on him by the immediate superiors, he clearly recognized its responsibility to the whole nation, and not having a national solution of corresponding preferred to put an end to their own fate, than to commit treason national case).
Conclusion:
Issues of international recognition of the Genocide and the territories annexed by the Armenian people by the Treaty of Kars is a national issue and nobody has the right to take action on them not having the powers of the nation.
One would think that after what happened to him have created for the Armenian people would naturally put the hard condition of relations with Turkey recognized the genocide, its consequences and the return of unlawfully annexed territories. However, after gaining independence government immediately declared the readiness of Armenia to establish diplomatic relations without preconditions. This position is indicative of the goodwill to the normalization of bilateral relations in the present, but did not rule out discussion and appreciation of the Armenian claims in future. This position – the establishment of diplomatic relations with Turkey without preconditions followed all replacing each other heads of Armenia. And now the authorities declared that same position.
Conclusion:
The establishment of diplomatic relations with Turkey without preconditions is the official state position of Armenia and in the presence of a bloody past with the millions of victims and the annexation of territories demonstrated the willingness of the Armenian state to go on a huge, extreme compromise in order to normalize relations with neighboring countries. This position involves only inter-state relations and does not address national nature which are outside the jurisdiction and powers of existing authorities of Armenia.
The published draft of the Armenian-Turkish protocols clearly indicate the presence of these items following that Armenia should comply with preconditions put forward by Turkey, namely to recognize the Kars Treaty and agree to assume the legitimate position of those who question the genocide.
However, government officials continue to claim that diplomatic relations will be established without preconditions.
Conclusions:
a) The Armenian authorities have gone beyond the limits of its authority and improperly invaded the sphere of relations of the national character, on what authority do not have.
b) The actions of the current Armenian authorities do not meet formally declared state of Armenia’s position on addressing the issue of establishing diplomatic relations without preconditions, and contrary to the Constitution and other laws of the Republic of Armenia.
c) The authorities of Armenia unceremoniously shown to the Armenian people utter contempt and try to mislead it continues to lie about the fact that diplomatic relations would be established without any preconditions.
Given the historical importance of the events for the Armenian people, we feel obliged to publicly express to them and say its no implementation of the Turkish preconditions. We also affirm the lack of confidence to those who are trying to push through its decisions by means of deception of the public.
Protocol provides FOLLOW DOWN WITH TURKISH PRECONDITIONS!
